I wasn’t impressed with John McCain’s performance in tonight’s GOP debate. Just like he did on Meet the Press last week, McCain ducked questions and was presented with several contradictions in his explanations for his votes.
If he gets the nomination he will be tough to beat given his appeal to moderates and independents, but his appeal might fade if he keeps this up.

McCain is like Jekyll and Hyde. As the humble underdog he comes off as the honest and straightforward common man. You are right, when he acts like the front runner, he starts trying to control every word coming out of his mouth and he starts to act arrogant. This flaw in McCain’s character has always baffled me
I think as long as McCain acts like the underdog, he is effectively immune to the attacks of Russ Limbaugh but if McCain starts letting bad John out of his box, those same punches will know him out in an instant. McCain can still lose this thing
Interesting point. He does act a little differently as soon as he becomes the frontrunner.
