I’m not a fan of George W. Bush or Michael Gerson (one of his former aides who’s now a columnist), but Gerson rightly points out that Bush deserves credit for devoting resources for fighting AIDS, Malaria and other diseases in Africa. Bush has fought hard and worked with Democrats to dramatically increase spending in this area and the efforts are saving lives.

There is a clear reason that Bush has been, in Bob Geldoff’s words, the greatest American president in supporting Africa.
The reason I believe, is that Bush, during his intense love relationship including the many hot lovemaking sessions with Condi Rice, has come to appreciate African American culture, and Condi obviously is “whispering in W’s ear” whilst he pounds away.
I agree it is great that something good came out of this whitehouse, even if it were born from an act of betrayal.
