MSNBC shuffles lineup for election coverage
MSNBC needed to make this move. Having Keith Olbermann and Chris Matthews anchor coverage of the debates was a mistake. David Gregory will now take over as anchor of election coverage during the debates.
I’m a fan of Olbermann’s show, but he clearly has a point of view, and that point of view always comes across in his election coverage. He should be on the panel with the columnists.
Matthews is all over the place. He also always has an opinion, and he’s usually out of control. He should also be on a panel.
David Gregory is a solid reporter, and he’s not as interesting when he’s asked to give his opinion on news developments, but he can handle the anchor position without coming across as an advocate of either side.

I totally agree Gerardo. I am not that familiar with David Gregory, however from what I’ve seen of him, it appears to be a good move. MSNB, CNN, NBC, ABC and CBS need to get rid of their agenda based programing. It’s thevery reason why they suffer so bad in ratings. They need to take a good look at Fox News – fair and balanced. They do offer both sides.
I like watching Lib and Conservative stratagists and politicians square off on different topics. Even if I don’t agree with what one side says, I feel it’s necessary to kept it honest.
Olbermann is definitely over the top. I don’t really enjoy his show either, in large part because his ego gets in the way of the content. But Fox News “fair and balanced”??
Fox News is “fair and balanced”?? Hahahahaha.
Check out the documentary “Outfoxed,” M. Furci. It will open your eyes.
Rupert Murdoch admitted that Fox News actively tried to drum up support for the Iraq war. How is that fair or balanced?

Again, the liberals have ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, MSNBC, all the major newspapers…yet they whine about ONE NETWORK! It’s to the point of being funny…
Nobody’s whining here — just responding to the idea of Fox being “fair and balanced.”
You’re always on the offensive, SRG. Maybe you should take up yoga or meditation.
Oh, because I’ve made several comments about how quick you are to resort to name calling and ridicule? That’s not whining; that’s simply an intolerance for people who think they can impress others by insulting someone they disagree with and demeaning their opinion.
People like you make people like me even more confident that we’ll be voting for the right guy in November.
I would have assumed Shawn already did yoga.
Anyways, Mike, Fox is not fair and balanced. You might like the sparring on that network, but it’s run by Roger Ailes, one of the powerful and effective Republican media strategists from the last 40 years. He worked for Nixon, Reagan, Bush etc.
WAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH! WAHHHHH!
Stop your crying Jamey. So surprising that you get on your high horse. How about MAKING A POINT?!?!?
At least the others do, all you do is spout the crap Rachel Maddows or Olberman tell you to. It’s funny. I can’t take anything you say seriously.
G, I practice yoga every morning at sunrise.
I’ve made plenty of points, SRG. You’re just too hung up on trying to embarrass me to notice. And as I stated a few comments ago, I actually don’t like Olberman, and I think Maddows is an Olberman wannabe, so try again.
“I can’t take anything you say seriously.”
Oh no, how will I survive?
As for me getting on my “high horse,” I’m not surprised you look at it that way. There are millions of people in this country who are tired of your kind of tactics. It’s one of the key dynamics of this campaign — one side trying to talk about the issues and looking for productive ways to approach those issues, while the other side demeans everything their opponent stands for and tries to distract everyone by making a story out of something as benign as a “lipstick on a pig” comment.
