Here’s more wisdom from Sarah Palin.
It’s stunning that a candidate for high office can’t speak intelligently about the Supreme Court. In this clip, she can’t name a Supreme Court decision other than Roe v. Wade that she disagrees with.
It’s not necessary for a candidate to be able to recite the names of decisions. It is important, however, for a candidate to have a working knowledge of the issues that have faced the courts over the years. As a social conservative, she could have easily cited decisions regarding prayer in schools or affirmative action that have offended conservatives.
Instead, she rambled through a bunch of general statements that were barely more coherent than her statements regarding Russia and foreign policy.
Again, she’s not remotely qualifed for the Vice Presidency. It has nothing to do with her gender or her politics. She just can’t carry on a meaningful discussion of national issues. She has not held a single press conference, where reporters are usually much tougher than Katie Couric.
Experience and readiness are not confined to the bullet points on one’s resume. The ability to be engaged in the issues of our time is crucial. She fails this test spectacularly, and even conservatives are starting to take note.
John McCain does not have the temperment to be President, and he has selected a running mate who is not qualified to be Vice President.

Her lack of intellectual curiosity is obvious, however, she has managed to charm her way into the hearts of many Americans.
She is the Forest Gump of politics and may just bumble her way to a lead.
She is not to be underestimated.
It is unfortunate to consider that knowledge of the issues and is of only secondary interest to many voters.
Must be nice to say so many stupidities that no one notices anymore
Biden’s Gaffe Immunity
He misspeaks so often, it’s hardly news—and hardly damaging.

Democratic vice presidential nominee Sen. Joseph Biden
When Joe Biden described an Obama ad attacking John McCain’s inability to use a computer as “terrible,” the world acted as if the Joe-pocalypse had finally arrived. Jonathan Martin of Politico called it “perhaps his most off-message statement yet.” Newsday dubbed him “gaffe-a-minute Joe.” National Review’s Victor Davis Hanson said it raised “serious concern whether Biden is up to the job.”
Please. Biden’s blunder couldn’t matter less. Not because gaffes never matter—they can, if they play into public perceptions of the candidate’s character—but because Joe Biden is gaffe-proof. Whatever traps he sets for himself, however many minorities he offends, he always seems to wriggle out. It’s almost as if, by committing so many gaffes, he has become immune to their effects. “Joe Biden Makes Gaffe” is the new “Dog Bites Man.”
In the past week, Biden hasn’t disappointed. When the federal government announced the AIG bailout, Biden said it was a bad idea. (The official campaign stance at the time was neither support for nor opposition to the bailout; Obama gently chided Biden for going off-message.) In Ohio, Biden said he’s against clean-coal technology. (That was his stance in the primaries, not Obama’s current stance.) And in an interview with Katie Couric, he said that when the markets crashed in 1929, “Franklin Roosevelt got on the television and didn’t just talk about the princes of greed. He said, ‘Look, here’s what happened.’ ” (FDR wasn’t president then, nor did television exist.)
Let’s face it people: THEY ARE ALL CHARLATANS.
The shame and stupidity is thinking they are different, these people will prostitute anything to get elected.
Please, give me a break– she’s accomplished more in Alaska in 3 months then all of BO’s community organizing and time in congress combined.
By the way- the community that BO did his organizing in is worse off today than it’s ever been. Chalk up another success for liberalism.
Even if one were to concede Palin’s so-called accomplishments, it still doesn’t justify her inability to speak coherently on a whole host of issues.
Tall Man,
Have you ever heard BO make a speech when the teleprompter has gone down? He makes George Bush’s speech sound like a Shakespeare sonnet.
Tonight she more than held her own against Biden. Biden should sue his plastic surgeon – those eyes are completely uneven. I wonder how much Mr. “I’m from Scranton” paid for that butcher job?
She did better tonight, but was still pretty lame – just reciting talking points, and avoiding numerous questions.
Nick – Yeah I saw one video sent to me from an Obama hater when there was a guy heckling him and he had trouble getting his point across. I don’t think there was a teleprompter, however, though I understand the right’s desire for that to be the case. After a year and a half straight of campaigning, a guy is going to have a bad day or two. Palin has done two interviews with mainstream media and both have been trainwrecks.
I’ve never seen him have trouble answering a question about an issue. Not the way Palin struggles.
Hey, if you like her, you like her. I withheld judgment until I got to know her better and at this point I think she’s an embarrassment. Her selection seriously puts McCain’s judgment into question. He’s a 72 year-old man and this is the best running mate he could find to run the country if something were to happen to him? Is it “Country First” or “Campaign First”?
One in three men over the age of 72 do not make it to 80.
