Most conservatives seem brain dead these days, but the NRO’s Kathryn Jean Lopez takes the cake.

Whistle in the dark, G. This debacle of Obama’s stimulus/socialism/spread the wealth/reward bad behavior at the expense of responsible citizenship is the catalyst for conservatives to get their act in order. I’ve spoken with a lot of physicians in the past few days that want to get involved in politics and end this madness, I’m sure other smart people are thinking the same thing.
Your liberal revolution will be short lived, sanity is right around the corner.
Yeah right, Palin will fix it all.
Nick: I can understand that physicians are not happy with a public health care system. Both my sisters also have self interest in keeping things as they are, hence they both agree with you, not me in holding the status quo.
i just wonder what your side thinks should be done about the problem, or are conservatives happy to let sick people without insurance suffer economic devastation?
This sort of thing is better managed in places like Sweden, UK, France, Italy, Denmark, Germany etc…
Hmmmm, JP– your sisters are experts, for all intents and purposes, in health care- and they don’t want anything to do with universal health care. You have no intimate knowledge of health care and you want universal health care– I wonder who is more correct in the conclusions they draw.
Reading Huffington, and reading postings from the folks on Huffington, I’m seeing a pattern develop. More and more people are expressing regret on their vote for the “Chosen” one. The 94% of us who pay our mortgage are outraged we have to foot the bill for morons. Some of those 94% voted for Obama- many are Reagan democrats and they do not like what they see. The only people that want this plan are the nutjobs that think Bush was responsible for the twin towers coming down and the ones that think Bush and Chaney should be tried for war crimes. I love it– Obama is over-reaching much earlier than I thought he would and pissing people off earlier than I thought he would. His true liberal colors are showing and Wall Street and the regular folks don’t like it.
Sweden, the UK, France, Italy, Denmark, etc all suck. They never achieved the level of power and productivity that the US achieved. What has made us exceptional in the past is being systematically dismantled by this new administration and the libs in congress (for years).
I just hope in 2 years we’ll be able to fix the welfare state that the US has become.
that’s a fantastic rant but you didn’t answer my question.
C’mon I am trying to be fair and honest for once, instead of hitting below the belt. Stating taht Italy sucks is hardly a plan for improving the US healthcare delivery system.
The US has the best health care in the world. I spent years at the Cleveland Clinic- where do you think the worlds wealthy come for their care when their life depends on it? Sheiks, Kings and Queens all come to the US for their care.
If we go universal health care, that’ll all change. Furthermore, the comments on this post have nothing to do with the issue of health care, BUT, what do you think is going to happen with all this “new and improved” welfare system we got? More people refusing to work, more people living like parasites, and more people bleeding the system dry- including health care.
I think that answered you question.
I’m seriously beginning to think you’re an idiot, or intellectually lazy and incapable of debate. In that case, listen to Gov. Arnold in California and shut the fuck up
I guess you don’t have any clue how to fix the fact that 50.000.000 people don’t have coverage and millions of the ones that do, still cannot afford coverage.
The fact that a few of our saudi daddy’s come to the Cleveland Clinic for heart surgery only supports the case that the US system works only for those with resources.
I can understand why doctors, and drug and insurance companies are against reform. Many of them are robbing us and they’re going to get paid less. Someone I think they’ll survive and the USA will spend billions less while covering everyone.
Considering it’s apparent you lack the ability to understand a simple point, let me explain.
If universal health care is the answer to all our problems, AND if your glorious European, socialist, heath care model works so well, AND if fantastically wealthy individuals can pick anywhere in the world to go for life saving care and they pick USA, it would be clear to most rational thinking persons to assume WE have the best care, therefore what we are doing works BETTER then the European socialist fucked up system. Were you able to follow that, Mr Supreme debater?
Furthermore, that fictitious 50 million figure you spout INCLUDES the 15-20 million ILLEGAL ALIENS (I suppose you want them covered as well- ask Arnold how that’s working out in California). With universal care will come heath care rationing- if that’s how you like health care, stay in Italy.
I have a better idea– donate a portion of your nice fat salary to the poor people that can’t afford their house payments (send it to ACORN)- and while your at it, send me a couple of hundred dollars a month to defray some of my mortgage as well- that won’t happen though because liberals LOVE to spend other peoples money, not their own.
