Harry Reid recently accused the opposing republicans of obamacare as being like those republicans who denied slavery as an obvious moral outrage and the republicans that obstructed the destruction of slavery…interesting since it was stephen douglas and pres. pierce that reversed the missouri compromise for the territories of nebraska and kansas to decide for themselves(a pro-slavery move) that angered anti-slavery northerners and birthed the republican party and the election of Abraham Lincoln. Founded on the anti-slavery notion the republicans went on to summarily end slavery a price America paid in blood. Any chance of posting footage and expressing outrage to such a blatant swipe and foray into hatespeech playing on the assumed ignorance of the American people? This revision to history is a major swipe at the proud portion of the civil rights movement in the U.S. Where is the outrage?
It was a stupid comment by Reid. Like many have said, any use of slavery or the Holocaust in today’s politics should be avoided at all costs.
