In a huge boost for Barack Obama leading up to the February 5th primaries, Ted Kennedy has decided to endorse Obama.

Kennedy will appear with Obama and Caroline Kennedy at a morning rally at American University in Washington tomorrow to announce his support.

Many have compared Barack Obama to JFK and RFK regarding his ability to inspire Americans. Some have mocked this comparison, but Caroline Kennedy apparently agrees. She endorsed Senator Obama for President in an op-ed in the New York Times:

I have never had a president who inspired me the way people tell me that my father inspired them. But for the first time, I believe I have found the man who could be that president — not just for me, but for a new generation of Americans.

Barack Obama sums it up in his memorable victory speech:

The choice in this election is not between regions or religions or genders. It’s not about rich versus poor; young versus old; and it is not about black versus white.

It’s about the past versus the future.

The networks have just called it, and it looks like a big win for Obama.

Surprisingly, he did pretty well with white voters with 24%. That’s much better than what the polls were showing last week. He also beat Clinton with younger white voters, who were clearly turned off by the Clinton tactics. He also did well with college-educated white voters.

We’ll see what the final numbers look like, but he has a chance still to make this a race.
