Steven Ybarra, a California superdelegate who heads the voting-rights committee of the DNC Hispanic Caucus, sent around an email criticizing the Clinton campaign for replacing Patti Solis Doyle as campaign manager.
“Apparently, loyalty is not a two-way street,” he wrote. “Latino superdelegates like myself . . . will have cause to pause.”
This is ridiculous. The Clinton campaign is a mess, and Solis Doyle deserved to be replaced. They probably should have done it months ago.
This kind of identity politics is pathetic. Ybarra should be embarassed. Hispanics and other minorities should demand that they be treated equally, but that includes being held to the same standards as others as well. If one’s performance doesn’t measure up, that person can be fired or demoted just like the rest of us.
I’m not a big fan of Hillary or her campaign, but this attack isn’t fair.
